The Eve Before Christmas, 2013

Christmas Eve - the day when we begin our preparations for Christmas dinner, we may go to a church service, or observe any other number of family traditions that we have established over the years.

Normally, hubby & I attend our church's candlelight service on Christmas Eve.  Unfortunately, hubby has to work right up until the time of the service so we will be unable to attend this year.  That's ok, because we'll be able to spend some extra time together before the craziness of Christmas Day.  Today, I'll be spending the day cleaning up the apartment, making more Christmas cookies, as well as cooking up a pot of delicious bolognese sauce for our Christmas Eve dinner.  Because of our routine in years past of going to church on Christmas Eve, we don't usually get to have a nice, relaxing meal.  This year will be different, and penne bolognese is one of my favorite meals so I'm pretty excited to be making it!

As far as our traditions for breakfast on Christmas Morning, hubby really only ever asks for pancakes - he's really not an egg person, or breakfast casserole, or french toast, or oatmeal...person...  I'll probably cook up some eggs for myself and indulge in a few pancakes, but it won't be anything elaborate.  I did find a few delicious ideas and have linked them below..just in case you are looking for some inspiration!
