Today's Scrumptious Saturday post highlights my first homemade cocktail. I splurged a little bit to get myself a nice cocktail shaker and the basics for a chocolate martini, and it was definitely money well spent because this is a great way to end the work day!!
Doesn't this look delicious?? The Chocolate Martini
was my first homemade cocktail and I have to say it turned out pretty well! First things first, I put a bit too much chocolate sauce in my
glass..it's mostly a decorative thing, but too much chocolate sauce kind
of muddled the taste of the drink. So next time, I'll have to tone it down!
There are many different ways to make a chocolate martini - I try to avoid purchasing spirits or liqueurs with flavors that can't be used in other drinks that I like, so my recipe calls for ingredients that I will use in some of my other favorite drinks (which I'll be sharing later on, don't worry!!)
Chocolate Martini
1 1/2 ounces chocolate liqueur (I used Godiva)
1 1/2 ounces Creme de Cocoa
1/2 ounce of vodka (I used unflavored Skyy Vodka)
2 1/2 ounces of milk
chocolate syrup to garnish the glass
Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add the chocolate liqueur, Creme de Cocoa, vodka, and milk. Shake to mix. Use chocolate syrup to swirl around the inside of a cocktail glass. Strain the chocolate martini into the glass and enjoy!
