Workout Wednesday: Monday & Tuesday Were Kinda Bummers

I have to admit, this week has started out rough as far as my diet/exercise plan is concerned.  Monday and Tuesday I was rather emotionally drained, for whatever reason, which made it difficult to concentrate on eating healthy and working out.  I don't eat junk food, mind you, and we don't really have anything "awful" in our house (which is a good thing), but I have such a tendency to overeat - that's my weakness and it's one that is so hard to battle!

Things went OK on Monday.. Tuesday I was tired and didn't really care about anything, so I indulged in some of the pizza that the boss ordered us for lunch (two slices, which I felt so guilty about later!!)  I came home from work and baked a casserole for dinner (one of my favorites, Tater Tot Bake) and couldn't stop myself from having a small portion.  After that, I was so bummed out that I went to the gym at 7:30pm and worked out for an hour.  After that I felt better - maybe it was just the sweating element that made me feel refreshed, but either way I was finally able to relax when I got home around 9:00pm.  And so the ups and downs go on and on...

My favorite piece of equipment at the gym is the incline treadmill.  It works up the greatest sweat ever and isn't very hard on the knee joints.  I usually go for 45 to 55 minutes with a varying incline and a speed of about 3.7 or 4.  The machine tells me that I burn between 400 and 450 calories with that routine, and I usually sweat enough to start making my mascara run..good times, good times.

  1. Monday and Tuesday was kind of like that for me too, but today I suddenly decided to work out at home, and tried one of jillian michaels dvd`s, and wow, what an intense workout. I`m so glad I did it, now I only hope that I can keep it up! Hope the rest of the week goes better for you:-)

  2. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had a tough start to the week.. A few ladies I know have done the 30 day shred (I think that's Jillian Michaels), I guess it's pretty crazy, so maybe I'll have to look into that for my at home workouts..

Thanks so much for your comment!! I hope you are having a good week :-)
