Easy Orange Sorbet...simple and delicious!

I've had six beautiful navel oranges sitting on my counter for the past week...the perfect way to use them?  Orange sorbet, of course!

To start off, separate the flesh from the rind.  I would suggest doing this over a bowl to catch all the yummy juice and orange pieces.  Cut each orange in half, then cut all the way around between the flesh and the rind.  Scoop the orange flesh out and place into a bowl, scrape any other juicy parts stuck to the inside of the rind into the bowl and place the rind aside.  Repeat for each orange.

The rind goes into a saucepan along with 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar (I probably could have gone with fewer rind pieces here), cook the sugar water over low-medium heat until the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally.

At this point you will want to puree the orange flesh - just throw everything in a food processor or blender and blend away!  You don't have to strain the mixture if you don't want to, the bits and pieces are all edible, however keep in mind that this will not be a "smooth" sorbet when it is finished - there will be some definitive texture to it.
Once the sugar water is clear, remove from the heat and slowly add the pureed orange mixture.  Gently stir together until combined.  Pour the orange mixture into a shallow bowl or dish, place in the freezer until frozen (this will probably take 4 to 6 hours).

The finished product!  So delicious and refreshing, and easy - just the way I like it!
