Frugal Friday

I'm trying something new...so I don't know if posts like this one will become a regular occurrence or not..I suppose it will depend on the week.
Anyhow, in a feeble attempt to start saving money on every day items, I've started really putting some effort into getting good deals by using coupons.  This past week or two, I've scored some pretty great deals, so today I am sharing three of them.  I hope you will find this post at least somewhat entertaining and I do hope to share more deals and the joys and tribulations of finding them here in western New York!!

TARGET:
Palmolive dish soap
$1.49 - $.75 off Target mobile coupon = $0.74

Kraft Recipe Makers
$2.99 for 2 (on sale, B1G1) - $1.50 off MQ - $1.00 Target coupon = $0.49 for two

Campbell's Skillet Sauce
2 for $4.00 - $1.00 off MQ = $3.00 for 2/$1.50 each

Market Pantry bread
$.99 - $1.00 off mobile coupon = FREE!!

Total Spent (w/tax):  $4.29
I used a $5.00 gift card that I earned during a previous transaction, which made this whole purchase FREE!!!

CVS:
This is my go-to toothpaste - it's not crazy minty, which is great, and it really does work.  I was able to get the best deal at CVS because I had a 25% off store coupon as well as an MQ.

Rembrandt Intense Stain toothpaste - $7.99 - 25% off CVS coupon - $2.00 off MQ

Total Spent (w/tax): $4.49

WALGREENS:
I think my Walgreens purchases have me the most excited...  I'd never actually couponed at Walgreens until this week, so I was a bit nervous, however everything turned out quite well!

The two boxes of cereal were on sale for $1.76 each.  Unfortunately, I didn't have a coupon, but in our neck of the woods, $1.76 for cereal is crazy cheap - coupon or not!

Right Guard deodorant
$4.19 regular price (was on B1G1 sale this week) - $1.50 off 1 MQ x 2 = $1.19 for two!!
This was such a great deal, made so due to Walgreens' policy to accept coupons on the "free" item in a B1G1 sale.  The deodorants came to less than $0.60 each!

BIC disposable razors
$3.99 regular price (was on sale, B1G1 50% off) - $2.00 off MQ = $3.98 for two packs
if you do the math, these razors were just $.14 each after sale/coupon.  Not too shabby!!

Total Spent (w/tax): $9.50

Please let me know how you get great deals in your area!  I'm still pretty new to this, but I totally see how people get a rush out of finding great deals and getting things for free (or almost free!!)

  1. You go, girl! It's not easy to get great deals in our neck of the woods. You might want to start reading the MoneySavingMom.com. She posts good deals at various stores, often pairing them with coupons. Also, you can access a coupon database at afullcup.com - you have to sign up, but it's free. Last, if you let me know what kinds of coupons you are looking for, I can pass them along to you if I find them in the coupons from the Sunday paper.
