Zumba Zumba Zumba!!! and healthy eating :-)

Monday & Tuesday nights my friend Nina and I took our first ever Zumba classes...Class 1 on Monday night was with a totally adorable instructor - she was rockin' it!!  We had a good time trying to get the moves down and burning calories.  Class 2 on Tuesday night was with an instructor who was a little older, but definitely had us moving all over the room.  We had a great time both nights, and I'm pretty sure I'll take the classes again.  I also did some time on the bike and incline treadmill and added some weights on Monday night.  I've actually lost about 2 pounds in the past 6 days, which kind of surprised me.  I'm not sure yet if it was the addition of the Zumba classes or something else, but we'll see how the rest of the week goes.

On the eating healthy note, we had an excellent dinner on Monday night: salmon with brown sugar and soy sauce marinade, and one of my favorites - green beans with salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.  Delicious!!!

On Tuesday night, Anthony made one of my favorite dinners, Salsa Mac & Beef.  It has an insane amount of calories in one serving, so I exercised some self control and only ate a small serving.  Oh, on a side note, I found these awesome "Skinny Sticks" in the natural section at Wegmans:

They are absolutely divine and have only 130 calories in 34 "Sticks".  They taste a bit like Sun Chips and are super duper healthy for you.  I got the sea salt ones, but I'll probably try some of the other flavors too...

I'm hoping to work out again on Friday and Saturday (since I'll be busy Thursday night).  Here's hoping for more weight loss and healthy eating!

Happy Wednesday!!

  2. I do Zumba at the RAC in Pittsford, on Monroe Ave. I've had a membership for awhile but just got back into using it (shame on me!!) That facility is pretty nice too, women only, so you don't have to worry about weird guys working out next to you ;-)
